American Museum of Natural History
Yesterday, My hubby, stepdaughter and I went to the museum of natural history. I would say is been about 18 yrs since the last time I stepped into the place and the changes that were made were phenomenal. It definitely brought memories back when I was a child. We got there early and we got to see most of the good exhibitions before the madness set in. By about 1:30 in the afternoon, this sea of tourists and people with mega strollers had invaded the museum. I personally have never seen so many double strollers in my life in one space. This made waiting for elevators a non prospect because for everyone you waited for there were at least 2 strollers and it when it open, there were at least 2 strollers getting of it. This is where it mad my nerves bad because 90% of those “children” in the strollers were old enough walk. I can see now where our penchant for laziness begins. Its inbred in some people. Hubby noticed my mood change but I tried to control it because I wanted Iliana(stepdaughter) to have a good time and thankfully she did. I am still trying to wrap my mind around a mentality that people with kids old enough to walk are still in strollers as well as if you have a baby, bringing them to a museum serves no real purpose. They proably wont remember and that museum is definitely something to remember.

I am going today with my 18 month old. I think he will enjoy parts of it and I will bring his stroller, although it isn’t mega, becasue he can’t handle all that walking.
I have a 5 Month old who I am bringing because I have no one to watch her. I do agree that I have seen children 4 and up in strollers, and Maddie will not remember the museum. But us moms need to do what we need to do if we want to get out and enjoy ourselves. I am glad your step daughter had a nice time.
